Searching For An Ideal Teenage Weight Loss Program?
This article will deal with an ideal teenage weight loss program. If you have tried something for your teenage child, or if you are teenager yourself struggling to be more like your peers weight-wise, I would like to tell you that losing weight is not as hard as it may seem.
The best part is you do NOT have to resort on some sort of "unknown" fad or "hocus pocus" advice that is claimed to work (when it most likely will not). Or even worse, you do not have to resort to diet pills or surgical methods that may have unwanted side effects.
The method should not be experimental, and (as I said before) it should not be difficult. In fact, like a jig saw puzzle, you either have the pieces already to lose weight or you can access them in places that you frequent regularly. You just have to learn to connect them.
To start with, you have to realize what makes us gain weight: poor metabolism. Now some of you may have a condition (such as hypothyroidism) that may require more than the methods I will list here, but for the most part, poor metabolism for the rest of us is caused by two factors (no, one of them is NOT genetics): poor activity and poor eating habits.
Now in high school, physical education is not an elective in your earlier years. Everyone must take it. For this reason, and the fact that many teenagers who take part in PE are no less thin than what they were before, I will sway you away from focusing on physical activity as the solution to your or your child's problem.
This is not to discourage you or your child from some form of physical activity. Discussing the benefits of exercise is beyond this article's scope; so I won't go into that here. Just keep doing something you enjoy.
That being said, the EASIEST way to lose weight is by focusing on what you eat. It may seem easier said than done, but not if you know the components involved. You can learn more about these teenage weight loss program components here.
In a nutshell, to effectively lose weight it is important to pay attention to the quantities of food you eat. Eating less than normal is far worse than eating more than normal. Overeating, in turn, is a recipe for weight gain and deteriorating health.
The TYPES of food also are vital. You must learn to select, make and eat the right types of foods that are body-friendly. Do this for as long as you are overweight. Do you need to do this forever? Probably not - more information about this in the link below.
Now I'm going to be frank with you. I was actually underweight, not overweight as a teenager (I weighed about 130 pounds or less at 5'8). But twenty years later I blossomed to 200 pounds. Not exactly an obese weight, but definitely one to raise some health concerns (my triglycerides were over the top and cholesterol borderline high).
By following the right way to lose weight (and this was after trying other unsuccessful methods - including my former favorite: exercise) I lost 35 pounds - down to 165 at 5'10. This is not to blow my own horn, but to show you that it is possible. And these methods can be applied at ANY age from about 2 years and up.
So for those looking for a teenage weight loss program, I'll conclude by saying: "get at it!" Remember, the result begins with an action. So act now - and good luck.
